St Hallvard Kirke & Kloster

This 1960s brutalist church located in Oslo Norway, was designed by Kjell Lund og Nils Slaatto. I actually quite like the design... the dark and simple interior really helps create a peaceful sanctuary..

Admittedly, I don't know anything about skiing, much less about ski jumps... but it just seems like Christensen Arkitekter would have had an easier time designing the ski jump if it was actually on the side of a mountain... Then again, it didn't stop Zaha..

This is a really lovely wood construction church in Norway, but architecture firm Jensen & Skodvin Arkitektkontor. The light and shadows are really amazing... Personally, I've always been a big fan of churches that celebrate the natural world around them.

Imagine if we'd all been going green since the 1600s...These timber framed farmhomes and barns built in the local Norwegian vernacular have some spectacular sod roofs. Indigenous building is all the rage again, but its a shame that we lost some of this knowledge for so long...
