Casa S

It is always inspiring to see contemporary design that strives to form a strong relationship to its surroundings. I am enjoying Alric Galindez Architects' Casa S in Bariloche, Argentina and its whimsical 'piled stone boxes' that reflect the rugged cliffside of the surrounding landscape and frame beautiful views of the region. The use of local stone siding reinforces this connection, and the distinct volumes allow for adaptability and compartmentalization of use as needed throughout the year. The interstitial spaces created between the stone volumes are also really neat. Check out more here.
