Coloring Outside the Lines

February 12, 2016

Forget the blue tape - here are some great projects where paint goes beyond coloring between the lines and actually defines space, surfaces, and light.

We love the graphic effect of this yellow painted "mantle".

Overpainting casings provide heft and stature to an otherwise standard door opening.

Black painted "wainscoting" provides contrast and depth.

Orange accent trim creates the illusion of dynamic movement with a pop of color.

Black paint on the ceiling and floor defines a smaller space within the larger space.

An otherwise subtle light fixture is given prominence by dramatic painted "light" on the facade.
