Fun with Painters Tape

September 17, 2012

After seeing a couple of contests to create unique art with painters tape we were inspired and decided to give it a shot ourselves. Its important to have a little fun around the office and even better when you get to explore new patterns and textures. We purposely set out to create a piece of art that used painters tape as the primary media, rather then a tool or step in the process like the traditional "masking" that the tape is used for. Over the course a a few weeks and a few thousand little tape and cardboard tabs we created this unique wall sculpture. By varying the length of the tabs a slight curve appears over the whole length of the piece. Each tab is placed at an angle and cast's shadows on to the other tabs creating a dynamic composition. Stop by our office as check it out for yourself!
