The average American spends a lot of time at the office. Why not design work spaces to be an inviting, interesting, and inspirational place? An atrium lounge filled with natural light and comfortable seating would certainly be an enjoyable place for a coffee break. Meetings would be so much more bearable seated at an enormous conference table with mismatched chairs. And who wouldn't love to enjoy their lunch seated in a carousel inspired banquette in the office cafeteria? One of our favorite things is to find reclaimed furniture and use it in our modern spaces. As much as we appreciate a good, sturdy piece of mass produced furniture from a certain Swedish retailer, there's just something to be said about finding a vintage piece full of character and history. We especially love looking for fabulous lighting pieces, trim, or wooden doors. And even if there isn't a particular piece we fall in love with, shopping for reclaimed furniture is a huge source of inspiration for textures and tiles. An ENTRY TABLE provides a drop zone for keys, phones & handbags for both you and guests.  It’s also great display space for seasonal decor, a special photo or an interesting table lamp.

We love modern and minimalist, but its not always easy to find. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and make things yourself. We are going to try and include a couple of blog posts to document the things we occasionally make here in the office. This week Shane Staley (who also operates a a high end furniture business during the wee hours of the night) created these Ash table and bar tops for a coffee shop that we are working on. Sometimes the only way to have something done right is to simply do it yourself, even if that means working through the night. Classic woodworking created these clean modern wood table tops.
