They are great. The new version I think is even better; disc brakes, multi-speed, high pressure tires, steel crank. There are certainly folding bikes that perform more like a real bike, but none that I've seen that one can fold up in 5 seconds and get on a bus. We probably put a couple of hundred miles on the Strida's every summer.steve jensenhttp://stevejensenarchitect.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4590486694993834440.post-13018533038501554142009-04-15T01:05:00.000-07:002009-04-15T01:05:00.000-07:00This reminded me of the sinclair "a-bike". Given that the a-bike has been around since 2006, I've had a bit of a dig around to see which came first.

The patent for the Strida concept was filed in 1986 (!). So not so new..

The Strida 3 was launched in 2002 and the the Version 5 strida launched in 2007. The A-bike launched 2006 with a different frame (and tiny, tiny wheels).

Just on looking at the two, I'm guessing the Strida would be the more comfortable and refined ride... but the A-bike seems to have a weight advantage of around 7lb.

I sound like an anorak don't I?rebound2000https://www.blogger.com/profile/10858630852654980260noreply@blogger.com
